WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a Global Head of Institutional Business- Public Markets you will be responsible for the institutional and wholesale commercial aspects of the firm globally, managing a team of 30+ across multiple locations, which includes relationship management, business development, product development, etc. In addition to ensuring that short-term financial objectives are achieved, the role is also responsible for steering the medium and long term direction of the unit and ensuring that appropriate resources and skill sets are in place to enable the business to take advantage of future opportunities.
You will work closely with other departments to create and execute a commercial plan that will ensure that the business unit meets its financial objectives.
Act as a leader as well as a manager within the sales group and within the business more broadly.
We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:
* Define the short, medium and long term objectives of the institutional distribution.
* Define and implement the necessary policies and committees for the SAM team to perform their activities in a compliant way.
* Lead, motivate, and manage a global institutional sales team, ensuring consistent performance, clear targets, and effective territory management.
* Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with key institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and other major institutional investors.
* Closely collaborate and coordinate with the Global Head of Institutional (Private markets) being the contact point.
* Coordinate and work with Product, Investment, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with product capabilities and market needs.
* Supervise and ensure the correct marketing materials are being used for the sales activities.
* Support the different geographies in the endeavors where they need the global team support: RFPs, reports, marketing materials, etc.
* Coordinate the relationship between CIB and SAM to ensure the optimal working cooperation environment between both areas of Santander. As well as reviewing and setting new targets on a recurrent basis.
* Identify market opportunities and trends to position the firm's product offerings effectively within the competitive landscape.
* Develop and implement robust sales processes to track and improve sales effectiveness globally.
* Oversee major client pitches, RFP responses, and presentations, ensuring highest standards and alignment to institutional client expectations.
* Represent the firm externally at conferences, industry forums, and thought leadership events to enhance brand presence and reputation.
* Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices within the sales process.
