We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior SAP S/4HANA Program Delivery Manager to lead complex SAP transformation projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in SAP delivery, coupled with extensive experience in managing large distributed teams across diverse locations, including offshore resources. The successful candidate will drive the implementation of SAP S/4HANA solutions from initiation through to successful deployment, utilizing deep expertise in project and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership and Delivery :
Oversee the end-to-end delivery of SAP S/4HANA programs, whether greenfield or brownfield, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budget requirements.
Lead complex SAP transformations, defining the project scope, objectives, and success criteria in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Implement SAP S/4HANA strategies that align with industry best practices to achieve optimal business outcomes.
Project Planning and Execution :
Develop comprehensive project plans that include clear milestones, deliverables, risk assessments, and resource allocations.
Continuously monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Leverage Agile and other relevant methodologies for effective project management.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Monitor expenses and performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities. Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders for transparency.
Team Management and Collaboration :
Manage large distributed teams, including onshore and offshore resources, ensuring smooth collaboration and consistent delivery of quality outcomes.
Mentor and guide team members to foster a high-performing, motivated, and collaborative work environment.
Align cross-functional teams by establishing regular communication channels, including weekly status meetings, progress reports, and escalation pathways.
Stakeholder Engagement :
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing them with project updates, insights, and solutions to project challenges.
Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings and align project goals with stakeholder expectations.
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and third-party service providers.
Risk and Quality Management :
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks to minimize disruption.
Ensure all project deliverables meet high standards of quality and implement continuous improvement processes as necessary.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and gather feedback for future project enhancements.
Continuous Improvement :
Utilize lessons learned and insights from previous projects to refine SAP delivery methodologies.
Drive innovation and efficiency improvements in project delivery by implementing best practices and new technologies.
Required Qualifications
Experience :
Between 10 and 15+ years of experience in SAP delivery, with a minimum of 3/5 years focused specifically on SAP S/4HANA program management.
Demonstrable experience in managing both greenfield and brownfield SAP S/4HANA implementations.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in SAP, project management (PMP, PRINCE2), or Agile are highly valued.
Technical Skills :
In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA functionalities, architectures, and deployment options.
Proficiency in SAP integration points and cross-functional module expertise.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and project governance best practices.
Leadership and Communication Skills :
Proven track record in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams, including offshore resources, in a matrixed environment.
Exceptional English communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including effective negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management abilities.
Project Management Skills :
Strong organizational skills with a solid background in delivering projects on time and within scope.
Excellent understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Microsoft Project, or similar.
