About the Foundation:
The Carlos Simon Foundation is offering an outstanding Postdoctoral position in our research laboratory. The applicant will join a research team committed to investigating innovative methods to shift the diagnostic and therapeutic focus towards a precise and early preoperative assessment of gynecological tumors. We are a multidisciplinary team made up of more than 30 professionals dedicated to biomedical research in reproductive medicine and women's health.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Contribute expertise in molecular and cellular biology, and gene editing tools to aid development and advancement of the research.
2. Work effectively with cross-functional teams, providing specialized knowledge and influence to maximize program speed and success.
3. Provide ideas and perform research to identify new opportunities to develop studies related to the promotion and improvement of human reproduction.
4. Directly work with a team of experimental scientists, maximizing employee productivity, engagement, and professional development.
5. Write research papers, reports, reviews, book chapters, summaries, and abstracts for scientific meetings.
6. Perform experimental procedures related to human tissue culture, molecular biology, gene editing, etc.
7. Conceive and execute new innovative project ideas.
8. Contribute to the design and execution of laboratory experiments and to the analysis and interpretation of data.
9. Represent and communicate results in the form of scientific articles and communications at prestigious international conferences.
10. Attend national and international conferences to present relevant research results.
11. Ensure excellent communication with stakeholders and collaboration with third parties or universities.
12. Keep own knowledge up to date and learn from senior team members, proposing appropriate training courses for personal development.
13. Review working practices and ensure that non-compliant processes are addressed.
14. Engage technical and non-technical collaborators within the wider organization to frame complex challenges, structure analytical solutions, and communicate results.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Ph.D. in molecular and/or cellular biology or related field.
2. At least 5 publications in indexed journals.
3. Participation in the management of tasks or subprojects in at least 1 project of national/international consortiums and/or projects/contracts with companies.
4. Demonstrated productivity and knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and processes.
5. Proven understanding and experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) data processing and high-throughput data analysis.
6. Working experience in bioinformatics or computational/quantitative biology field.
7. Organization of data, protocols, and results: statistical analysis, computer literacy.
8. Previous experience in writing scientific articles.
9. Ability to work both in a group and independently, adapt to changing environments, and excellent communication and management skills.
10. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive attitude with the ability to coordinate and multi-task.
11. Open-mindedness and persistence in overcoming adversity.
12. Critical thinking.
Labor Conditions:
Salary: The salary range for this position will depend on the suitability of the candidate for the requested profile. Full-time employment contract.
