Ensures the optimal functioning of the assigned application(s) in functional sense and the continuity and security of data and software.
Responsible for the accurate intake, resolving or let solving of incidents, changes and requests from customers on functional and/or technical area within the agreed service levels.
Participating in projects (can be through Competence Center) aimed at the roll-out of applications within Nutreco and/or improving applications in functional and/or technical area.
The Application Engineer supports the user organization and executes maintenance and management tasks for applications. Contributes to the design and introduction of new ICT-solutions.
Application KPIs will be measured to ensure that applications are running effectively and efficiently.
Acts mainly on an operational level.
The Application Engineer reports hierarchically to one of the Team Leads of the Application Services Domain in the Global IT Services organization and has a global scope for the concerned application(s).
Reports functionally to Process Information Manager if Application Engineer works for Competence Center.
For the Change & Release Management role:
* Is Chairman of and manages the CAB (agenda, invites, minutes).
* Insures the CAB is involved when necessary.
* Participates in the Global CAB with the external service provider.
* Is in close contact with the external service provider to ensure changes progress as needed.
* Verifies if the CAB is needed to accept the RfC under consideration.
* Approves or Rejects Changes for building.
* Authorizes or Rejects Changes for Implementation.
* Documents decision making regarding the Change & Release Management process.
* Resolves issues and conflicts.
* Processes changes in the Nutreco service management tool.
* Informs all stakeholders on the promote to production planning.
* Informs all stakeholders on the closed changes on a monthly basis.
* Stimulates creation of Standard Changes and approves Standard Change procedures.
* Explains processes, tooling, external service provider involvement etc. to all stakeholders when applicable.
* Applies procedures strict when necessary, is flexible when possible.
* Reports on the process performance.

Application development:
* Specify and quantify capacity requirements of the technical infrastructure.
* Translating the functional design into a technical design.
Application maintenance and management:
* Takes care of the daily management and optimization of the applications, including execution of High Availability tests and Quality tests.
* Performs system testing, configures standard software and optionally acceptance testing.
* Responsible for resolving incidents and processing changes on functional and technical area within the application by directing suppliers and/or self-executing activities.
* Analyzes problems, conducts improvements and identifies trends.
* Checks the operation of control and security measures of hard- and software.
* Establish relevant application management documentation.
Application support:
* Support the user organization via solving incidents and the introduction of new or custom solutions with information and/or directions.
* Give direction to smaller projects for adaptive and preventive maintenance and act as technical project leader.
Management advice/reports:
* Reports Service Level Management data/KPIs regarding assigned application(s) into GITS organization.
* In a Team Lead role manages a team of developers, responsible for staff development, managing workload, setting objectives and other related management responsibilities.
Change & Release Management:
* As defined in GITS, the Change and Release management role is key to ensure we have a smooth and well-managed set of services.
* The Change Coordinator Applications is responsible for managing the entire Change & Release Management process, in line with the Nutreco Process Definition and Implementation Guidelines. The Change Coordinator Applications is responsible for all changes within the domain, including releasing them into production environments. The Change & Release Manager is responsible for the results and quality of the Change & Release Management process.
* The efficiency and effectiveness of the process must be in accordance with the SLAs, using measurements, reporting and improvements of the process.
