Senior Buyer - MRO Category EMEA
About The Role
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of procurement? Join our dynamic team as a Senior Buyer specializing in the MRO category (including services) across the EMEA region. Your expertise will be essential in driving the execution of Global Procurement strategies through active participation in our Category Excellence Teams.
In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing the Operating Materials & Services category in the EMEA region in accordance with Global Procurement policies, systems, and procedures, while contributing to the execution of the Global Procurement strategies through active participation on assigned Category Excellence Teams.
In addition, it requires extensive internal interaction with the regional Procurement organizations and the Operations partners in the different countries within the EMEA region, to ensure they are supported for spend management from supplier discovery Request For Information (RFI), vendor selection and award, and sourcing execution with proper agreements in place. It requires close monitoring of KPIs on service delivery against standards, resolving/reconciling price discrepancies and disputes with vendors to support sites and meet customer requests in the most efficient and effective manner and at the lowest cost and administrative effort.
You will manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with IFF business objectives, and align sourcing strategies with regional and local business needs. Regional external interactions with suppliers and extensive market/network knowledge will be required.
The role will include responsibility for year-over-year savings in the cost of operating material & services, continuous improvements in working capital, supplier development, and collaborating with suppliers to drive IFF's digital strategy and innovation programs.
You will be a valued business partner across the organization and support initiatives to achieve the company's strategic objectives. The scope of this position includes effective products/services and competitive market intelligence to dynamically evaluate IFF's competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Sourcing Initiatives: Oversee the sourcing of the MRO category in alignment with Global Procurement policies, systems, and procedures.
* Collaborate Across Regions: Work closely with regional Procurement organizations and Operations partners across the EMEA region to support spend management from supplier discovery to Request For Information (RFI), vendor selection, and sourcing execution.
* Monitor Performance: Keep a close eye on KPIs to ensure service delivery meets standards, and resolve/reconcile price discrepancies and disputes with vendors to support sites and meet customer requests efficiently and effectively.
* Supplier Management: Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with IFF business objectives and sourcing strategies that meet regional and local business needs.
Additional Responsibilities
* Drive year-over-year savings in the cost of operating materials and services.
* Continuously improve working capital and support supplier development.
* Collaborate with suppliers to drive IFF's digital strategy and innovation programs.
* Utilize your strong negotiation skills and proficiency to achieve optimal outcomes.
Requirements
* Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Economics, or Supply Chain. Chemical background a plus.
* Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communications in English.
* Minimum 3 - 5 years in procurement of Operating Materials and Services.
* Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills (more than 3 years).
* Strong ability to interact with regional Procurement organizations and Operations partners.
* Task prioritization and ability to function effectively under pressure.
* Proficient in monitoring KPIs and resolving vendor disputes.
* In-depth market/network knowledge and the ability to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
* ERP (SAP / Oracle) knowledge.
* Experience in the F&F industry including an understanding of religious certifications, regulations, and REACH.
* Experience with Office 365, procurement tools, and sourcing tools.
* CPSM (Certified Professionals in Supply Management) / ISM or equivalent.
