About Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas:

About the role of the Director of Purchasing:
Oversee and coordinate the operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom Departments to ensure all hotel departments are consistently supplied with the necessary resources to perform their functions efficiently. Stay informed about emerging products and alternatives in the market, and collaborate with hotel management to identify options that enhance cost-effectiveness and maintain high-quality standards. Uphold the highest level of integrity and transparency in all interactions with business partners, ensuring that all procurement decisions are made fairly and equitably.
What you will do:
* Assist the Director of Finance in preparing forecasts and budgets as required locally, by corporate office or Management Agreement.
* Coordinate and participate as necessary in all month-end, quarterly or annual inventories of food, beverage, operating equipment and supplies.
* Participate in the annual circulating Operating Equipment inventory and assist in review and reconciling of discrepancies.
* Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards as they relate to the Purchasing Department are complied with.
* Ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing contracts and conduct, manage and complete competitive bids in accordance with policy and ensure bids are on file where applicable prior to execution of contracts.
* Ensure that all purchase order requests are properly documented and accounted for, completed and approved before a purchase order is prepared and the items are purchased.
* Complete the corporate annual operating equipment and supply requirements with the corporate Purchasing Department and the appropriate hotel department heads, including quarterly review and update of annual forecasts.
* Coordinate purchases related to capital projects with the corporate Purchasing Department as well as outside contractors.
* Conduct frequent quality control audits to ensure staff is properly trained and following established procedures.
What you bring:
* Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
* At least 3+ years of experience in a luxury hotel or similar high-end environment is preferred.
* Prior experience with the Birchstreet System is essential.
* Certification as a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from a recognized professional organization is a plus.
* Six Sigma or Lean Management certifications are advantageous for candidates focused on process improvement.
* Strong experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization.
* Ability to work proficiently with all hotel systems, maintaining a keen attention to detail.
