The Engineering Maintenance Lead manages a team of plant engineers and technicians to support manufacturing continuously, efficiently, and effectively through maintenance activities (corrective, preventive).
About the Role
Major Accountabilities:
1. Ensure continuity throughout the week for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and provide coverage for corrective maintenance with on call organization. Include handovers within the maintenance team and with production to maintain transparency and facilitate communication flow.
2. Introduce concept of Maintenance KPIs. Complete KPIs for maintenance and report result monthly to the Global Maintenance Structure. Find opportunities to deliver improve KPIs and reduce cost of maintenance and time execution for maintenance activities.
3. Responsible for adherence to training schedule for maintenance team, Work Orders priorities and implement WO reviews process. Deliver a robust system with existing members in maintenance team. Input to weekly planning meeting.
4. Set goal, manage performance and development activities for all direct reports including management of annual leave and other requests.
5. Work closely with Production Supervisors to ensure interdepartmental activities are planned and executed safely.
6. Ensure Maintenance compliance with all safety, environmental and quality. Document all activities in line with cGMP requirements.
7. Ensure execution of Calibration and Maintenance Plan and effective scheduling of shutdowns if required.
8. Proven instrumentation/troubleshooting ability.
9. Good knowledge of procedures, policies and guidelines required to comply with cGMP and HPRA/FDA guidelines.
10. Minimize number of equipment breakdown and minimize the breakdowns in time affecting to production hours. Represent Engineering support at Tier morning meetings. Coordinate resources and assign tasks and activities according to priorities, complete weekly review/accuracy/completeness of working plans.
11. Connect the maintenance team onsite with other sites in RLT and other Novartis sites adhering to Global Maintenance Standards (Global regular calls).
12. Education: Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
13. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/ Chemical/ FMCG Industry, up of which a detailed functional knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing equipment is essential.
14. Capacity of technical analysis of recurrent break down.
15. Highly skilled in problem solving in general and related to equipment (electrical, mechanical breakdowns).
16. Deep understanding of Pharma GMPs, Maintenance KPIs, Equipment onsite
17. Fluent in English and Spanish language.
18. Previous experience in Maintenance activities or radioprotection equipment is highly desirable.
19. Deep knowledge of maintenance activities, procedures and KPIs is desirable.
20. Knowledge functionality of CMMS system.
