We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Regional Category Manager with expertise in mechanical commodities to join our Procurement team for the EMEA region. The successful candidate will develop & deploy the global category strategy for the Aesthetics & Fabrications segments, working in full alignment with the global category team and the EMEA Supply Chain Business Partner. The candidate will provide operational oversight to the EMEA leadership team on contracts execution, regional suppliers selection, suppliers performance (including Supplier Premier program), and optimization opportunities, achieving targeted goals on key KPIs while managing suppliers’ risks. This role is an excellent opportunity to play a strategic role in building a key aspect of Otis’ global purchasing organization. The role requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the mechanical supply chain, the ability to drive cost-saving initiatives, and capabilities to evaluate among multiples priorities and targets. The location for this position must be Madrid, Gien, Paris or Geneva.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the regional procurement strategy for Aesthetics & Fabrications across EMEA, in alignment with the global strategy, working in a matric environment.
Provide regional leadership for Strategic Sourcing activities to maximize business value and results.
Strive to meet annual productivity targets for the category, driving value through effective management of the supply base, fostering a competitive landscape, sustainable year-over-year cost reduction, and transparency of cost drivers.
Lead initiatives for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and standardization across the region.
Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure competitive and cost-effective solutions, through a data-driven approach and clean sheet/ should cost models, ensuring compliance to Otis’ procurement policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality) to align on specifications and ensure successful integration into production processes
Partner with Engineering for new product introduction and product change requests, aligning Sourcing Strategies and support on value engineering programs. Ensure Total cost of ownership (TCO)thru product lifecycle cost management
Analyse and manage the regional supply base, driving supplier performance improvement programs, and resolving issues related to cost, quality, and delivery.
Manage supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution, and fostering long-term partnerships.
Develop and implement a supplier risk mitigation strategy for the category in compliance with all applicable policies.
Demonstrate full compliance with the "Otis Code of Ethics".
Manage a team of 4 sites local buyers, with a hierarchical reporting line (1 located in Madrid and 3 located in Gien).
Requirements:
An undergraduate degree in Engineering or Purchasing; a master’s degree is preferred
Proven experience (10+ years) in procurement, category management, and team management.
Experience working in a highly globalized, matrixed environment, preference for an industrial / operational industry
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to manage multiple suppliers and stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in procurement tools.
Ability to influence and collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers at all levels.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Full fluency in written and spoken English required, French or Spanish fluency preferred.
Knowledge of supplier performance management and continuous improvement processes.
Strong understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers in the mechanical industry.
Ability to travel across the EMEA region as required.
