Business Controller
Summary of the role:
Financial Analyst for the Hotel IT (HIT) organization. This position works hand in hand with the Finance Manager of Above Property, supporting all FP&A activities for the Products within this subline of business. The main objective is to provide financial support that helps the business unit understand the business drivers, evolution and performance of Above Property, and help them in the decision making of day to day and strategic decisions.
Main responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting & Analysis responsibilities:
o Prepare and oversee the accurate and timely reporting of the business monthly financial results and metrics, as well as legal entity financial information when necessary.
o Provide meaningful reports and analysis for management to understand and take necessary actions to manage the business.
o Lead analysis and communications with regards to the Fixed costs of Above Property.
* Planning:
o Support on the reporting of the monthly / quarterly Gross Margin analysis and understanding the contribution on each of the products. Working closely with other team members within HIT and the wider organization including Hospitality business unit stakeholders and corporate functions.
o Analyzing and investigating material variances versus previous years, budget or forecast, business cases or other P&L versions.
* Business performance and relationships:
o Build up a solid relationship with internal customers to understand business needs. Proactive approach and support the generation of more in-depth P&Ls.
o Deliver ad-hoc reports working closely with peers and different stakeholders, such as Commercial Finance or Commercial operations to ensure a common understanding of the business that could lead in strategic business decisions. Show proactivity and creativity and a solid business understanding.
* Transactional and Financial statements reporting:
o Ensure that financial records are accurately reflected ensuring variable costs and fixed costs are recorded correctly.
o Manage the month end closing, where appropriate, ensuring all processes are closed within the target deadlines following Amadeus Group policies. Lead all estimation processes impacting the financial statements.
* Finance Operations / process improvements:
o Seek constant process improvement, ensuring accuracy in the Financial Statements and implement efficient administrative and financial processes while using IT applications.
* Training/eLearning:
o Proactively approach learning experiences, such as the eLearning courses, taking full ownership an awareness of one’s hard and soft skills, linked to the current role.
About the ideal candidate:
* University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Mathematics, Commerce, or Business Management/Administration
* 2+ years’ experience as a consultant or in a multinational firm
* Experience in a multinational environment
* Excel and Office package, and major ERP such as SAP; Salesforce package is a plus
* Fluent in English
* Proficient in excel with advance functions (pivot tables, vlookup, macros)
* Experience in the software industry is a plus
* Critical analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate results of analysis to management at all levels
* Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines
