Job Description
As the Head of Knowledge and Technology Transfer, the applicant will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and its practical, commercial applications. The applicant will report directly to the Vice Director of Innovation, Sponsored Research and Public Engagement, who in turn reports to the Director of the Institute. In this role, the applicant will be responsible for leading the KTT team, driving the commercialization of our research outputs, managing intellectual property, and fostering strategic partnerships with industry, government, and other research institutions. Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support to maximize the team's effectiveness.
2. Develop and execute knowledge and technology transfer strategies to maximize the impact of ICFO's research.
3. Manage the identification, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property, including patents, licenses, and spin-off ventures.
4. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other research organizations to facilitate collaboration and funding opportunities.
5. Oversee the negotiation and management of licensing agreements, research contracts, and other legal frameworks related to technology transfer.
6. Support researchers in identifying potential commercial applications of their work and provide guidance on market trends, commercialization pathways, and business development.
7. Develop and implement dissemination programs to engage with external stakeholders, including investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
8. Monitor and report on the impact of technology transfer activities, including economic benefits, societal impact, and alignment with the research centre's mission.
