As Engineer & Maintenance Lead for our Palafolls site, you will be responsible for leading the engineering/maintenance organization at the site and ensuring that equipment, infrastructure, and buildings are fully operational, meet regulatory, GMP, and HSE compliance, industry best practices, and are further developed to meet future requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for developing/maintaining the technical site strategy plan (Capex Plan, recapitalization of equipment, budgeting, etc.) and oversight of its implementation.
* Objective setting/performance review for the Engineering department.
* Ensure availability of competent, high-performing people and develop the talent pool.
* Inspection readiness of the Engineering department.
* Ensure technical training of Engineering personnel: training curricula, training execution - in line with GOPs, development plans, and best practices.
* Develop and maintain job descriptions of Engineering personnel.
* Prepare monthly engineering reports with key KPIs (Capex, Maintenance, HSE, and Quality).
* Support internal and external audits.
* Ensure compliance with Quality Manual/Quality Modules/GOPs/NMM, etc.
* Implement standards.
* Implement GOPs, and if needed, create regional/site SOPs & templates.
* Implement sharing and leveraging of best practices and expertise.
* Own the Training Curriculum for own Job Profile.
* Member of the site leadership team as well as the regional engineering leadership team (where applicable).
Maintenance & Calibration & Technical Services Operations & Automation:
* Responsible for the technical availability, reliability, and condition of the production plants.
* Define and execute asset strategy and proper asset/systems lifecycle management.
* Define and implement maintenance strategy and program and budget.
* Plan resources for maintenance/calibration.
* Monitor and control backlogs of maintenance/calibration work orders.
* Develop, monitor, and improve KPI for maintenance & calibration.
* Create and control maintenance/calibration budget, drive efficiencies in full compliance with law, cGMP, and HSE regulations.
* Govern Service Delivery from own and 3rd parties (operation and maintenance).
* Develop a long-term investment strategy for the site in close alignment with site head and platform engineering head.
* Prepare Project Charter, Business Case, and CAR.
* Ensure close collaboration with projection management team including portfolio management and reporting. Responsible for delivering required site resources during project execution including commissioning and qualification.
* Responsible for the management/execution of small site investment projects (so-called baseload) according to customer needs (time, cost, functionality, and quality/safety).
What you'll bring to the role:
* Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent.
* Fluent in Spanish and in English.
* More than 5 years of engineering experience with time spent in investment projects and maintenance.
* Broad leadership experience (successful project management) on major investment projects and/or large maintenance organization.
* Excellent project management skills including contract management and project appraisal/financial knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively present complex ideas and solutions to executive management, technical experts, and regional/local teams.
* In-depth technical knowledge in chemical and/or pharmaceutical processes and equipment.
* Wide interdisciplinary knowledge.
* Extended HSE and GxP/QA knowledge.
