We are currently searching for the best candidates for a CAPEX Category Manager (BUYER) role, located in Bellaterra (BCN). Customer is APPLUS, a leading global services company.
Mission:
The CAPEX Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for global capital expenditures. This role will ensure that procurement activities align with the company's overall strategic goals, delivering cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Capex category and the ability to navigate complex negotiations and supplier relationships. To assure main systemic supplier performance in Key APPLUS projects, he/she will assure APPLUS standard rules are followed by our suppliers, ensure the right communication between teams, and manage supplier engagements and denounces whenever it is not respected. Bring visibility over tier 1 suppliers and help project management.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Management:
o Develop and implement category strategies for Capex that align with the company’s objectives.
o Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in Capex purchases.
o Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market conditions, supply base, and emerging technologies.
2. Sourcing and Procurement:
o Lead E2E procurement processes for Capex including tendering, negotiating & contract management.
o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure procurement strategies meet business needs.
o Develop a supplier base that supports the company’s growth, quality, and innovation objectives.
o Manage supplier performance, conducting regular reviews and addressing any issues/concerns.
3. Contract Management:
o Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for Capex to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
o Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements & risk management standards.
o Monitor contract performance & compliance, managing any changes or renewals as necessary.
4. Cost Management:
o Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels.
o Develop total cost of ownership (TCO) models to evaluate and optimize procurement decisions.
o Monitor and report on cost savings achieved and projected against targets.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Work closely with local procurement teams, engineering, finance, operations, and project management teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budget constraints.
o Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities, category strategies, and market developments.
6. Risk Management:
o Identify and mitigate risks associated with Capex procurement, including supply chain disruptions, financial instability, and compliance issues.
o Develop contingency plans and ensure supply continuity for critical projects.
7. Continuous Improvement:
o Implement best practices in procurement processes and contribute to continuous improvement of the function.
o Keep abreast of industry best practices and innovations in Capex procurement management.
Requirements:
* University degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
* Additional training: Specialized in Procurement in Services, engineering international environment, facility management experience, SAP ARIBA experience.
* At least 5 years in a similar position.
* Soft Skills: Negotiation practice, open-mindedness, technological knowledge, financial awareness, results orientation, market and supplier intimacy, initiative, supply chain knowledge, teamwork, organization & management, flexibility, analytical thinking, impact and influence.
* Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent spoken and written English (C1).
