If you are a passionate Engineer, interested in the latest trends in the automotive sector, we are looking for you to reinforce our Electronics Team in IDIADA HQ. As a member of the Applus IDIADA Electronics Department, you will be part of the team integrated within the structure of a vehicle manufacturer based in Santa Oliva (province of Tarragona) and will be working on applications related to functional safety applied to different systems of the vehicle.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role consist of carrying out activities related to the Functional Safety of the vehicle, regulated by the ISO 26262 standard. These include:
1. Comprehensive definition of the vehicle features (e.g. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Thermal Management, Battery Management System) according to the customer’s vehicle design;
2. Analysis of the possible hazards in case of electric and electronic malfunctions of the vehicle feature (e.g. thermal event, loss of deceleration, etc..) and assessment of the risks coming from those hazards;
3. Definition of safety goals and functional safety requirements to prevent possible hazardous events;
4. Definition of technical safety requirements and safety architectural design of the vehicle features;
5. Safety Validation of the vehicle features;
6. Support activities for the improvement of procedures and methodologies (e.g. definition of checklist/templates/guidelines);
7. Activities related to project definition and quotations, such as communication with clients to determine their needs, preparation of offers, and internal meetings.

You do not need to be a Functional Safety Expert to apply; good background in Electronics or Mechanics, a passion for the automotive industry, a willingness to learn, and the availability to work with worldwide OEMs are the main requirements.
Which skills are desired?
- ISO 26262 standard know-how
- Experience in Electric/Electronic or other development areas (e.g. Powertrain, ADAS, E-Mobility)
- Experience from the side of OEM and/or supplier
- Know-how among different vehicle architectures (e.g. Combustion Engine vehicles, Electric vehicles, Automated vehicles)
- Excellent team-working, organization, and communication skills
- Knowledge of traditional Office suites (MS Office, Outlook)
- Willing to travel
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, or similar
Languages
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Knowledge on German will be an asset.
- Other languages will be valuable
