Role OverviewOur client, a leading European CDMO partner for the pharmaceutical and health & beauty industry, is seeking a Business Development Director. You will be responsible for business development and customer account management for the company’s contract manufacturing services in Spain. This role will contribute to the broader strategic direction and commercial success of the business unit.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute as a member of the management team to the strategy, resource planning, and overall efficiency of the business unit, ensuring alignment with the company’s group-wide strategy and priorities.Develop and implement a business development strategy for contract manufacturing services in Spain in collaboration with the Group Commercial team.Identify and secure new customer opportunities in Spain, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to offer submission in line with internal approval processes.Foster and maintain long-term relationships with customers, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and business growth.Oversee the smooth transfer of new business in collaboration with the relevant business units and technical teams.Act as the lead negotiator for contractual agreements with customers, working closely with legal and internal stakeholders.Prepare and present reports on sales performance, market trends, and prospecting activities.Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement necessary action plans.Utilise CRM and other digital tools to manage sales activities and customer relationships.Ensure compliance with corporate values, policies, and procedures, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.Candidate ProfileA degree in Business or an MBA; an additional degree in a technical field is an advantage.Native Spanish speaker with fluency in English.Minimum of 10 years’ commercial experience, ideally within a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) or pharmaceutical B2B manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Proven experience in negotiations and business development, with a track record of successful sales.Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques and customer relationship management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to monitor and improve sales performance metrics.Experience working with CRM systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, BI); advanced Excel skills are an advantage.Based in Madrid, Spain.If you're interested in the above role then please click apply or get in touch to discuss further.Medexec will endeavour to contact candidates within 14 days of application.
