JOB PURPOSE:
The Safe Travel Manager will lead a team of peer professionals to deliver safe travel across the Ice Cream business. The Ice Cream business has robust external and internal commitments for protecting people and the planet, and the SHE community facilitates progress against those targets.
Success is determined by a strong SHE culture within the Ice Cream team. The Safe Travel area covers all movement of Unilever-related goods and personnel. Transport operations may be Unilever owned and operated, third-party contracted, or executed via a commercial carrier. This role will be the technical leader in establishing programs, plans, and policies to deliver against the Ice Cream company SHE targets for zero harm in transport operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Set strategy to meet commitments regarding Safe Travel.
* Improve Safe Travel capabilities across Unilever employees, contractors, and third-party suppliers.
* Provide support to business units to facilitate progress against a unified agenda, particularly in change management such as capital projects.
* Lead the culture change process for transport safety.
* Design and operate governance processes to track company performance against all Safe Travel safety targets.
* Maintain governance tools relevant to the area of governance (i.e., PAR, SPR, WCM, AIRSWEB, SHEnet, MOC, SIRA, Power BI, and others).
* Lead critical root cause investigations globally for complex travel-related incidents.
* Maintain documented standards, policies, and practices to ensure Safe Travel compliance with regulatory and Unilever expectations.
* Prepare data and verbiage for internal and external company reports for safety technologies, ensuring accuracy and brand protection.
* Own standards and guidance specific to Safe Travel capability, material handling equipment safety (MMHE), safe driving, office safety, and safe travel.
* Design and maintain the learning content and curriculum expectations for all Safe Travel capabilities across stakeholders, working with Supply Chain Academy (SCA) teams.
* Operate within the boundaries of SHE business expectations in cost, capital, and headcount.
EXPERIENCES, QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
* University degree in Science, Safety, or Engineering.
* Technology experience in Safe Travel design and implementation in Unilever or other similar companies.
* Knowledge of human behavior and work processes associated with unplanned event management.
* Excellent knowledge of Unilever SHE standards and working knowledge of SHE IT tools and their integration into other functional work processes.
* Strong influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
* Good observation and auditing skills.
* Ability to influence strategic deliverables.
* Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
* Working experience with work processes in all functions in Unilever to best integrate all SHE standards and tools.
* Experience in Safe Travel design and implementation for 5-7 years.
* Appropriate functional/technical and project management expertise.
PREFERRED
* Experience in supply chain operations.
