About the role:
Central to our approach is large-scale simulation of automated vehicles (AV) in a high-fidelity digital replica of their deployment location. Our digital replica fuses traffic microsimulation, a high-fidelity vehicle simulator, and an open-source or commercial AV control stack. Our Simulation Engineer will play a leading role in creating and designing the traffic simulation scenarios for complex AV deployments, providing the foundation for the risk and impact analysis used by our customers in their insurance products.
What you will do:
* Help us make automated vehicles a reality and with your technical intelligence – save lives.
* You take the lead in designing traffic simulation scenarios based on given virtual testing objectives.
* You know how to reliably simulate traffic and extract key performance indicators in a resource-efficient and reproducible way.
* You ensure nothing falls through the net by closely collaborating with your colleagues working on software development and analytics.
* Spot, identify, and incorporate novel solutions in research and industry in high-fidelity AV simulation to further improve our customer attractiveness.
* Collaborate closely with the Engineering Lead to create, maintain, and evolve the simulation environment.
* Maintain and develop a culture of engineering excellence for the complete product.
What You Need to Have:
* A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
* Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicle (AV) concepts, particularly in simulations or vehicle systems.
* Experience using Aimsun for traffic simulation and analysis.
* Knowledge and experience in utilizing HD maps and field data for traffic studies and modeling.
* Programming skills in Python or MATLAB Simulink, with a willingness to learn and improve.
* Familiarity with Git and DevOps, along with container technologies.
