iVascular is a fast growing company founded in 2010 in Barcelona (Spain) with the aim of developing medical devices and therapies for the treatment of disorders of the vascular system and to become a reference in the vascular field by enhancing the value of technology and innovation.
The team that started iVascular has more than 30 years of experience in the field of vascular devices, being responsible for obtaining one of the first CE marks for a drug-eluting stent more than 20 years ago.
We are currently looking for an R+D Project Leader to help us develop the future products we will launch to the market.
MISSION:
The main mission of the Project Leader is to achieve the technical and economic goals set by the company for product development and ensure that the developed products are manufactured with the quality and cost standards, always taking into account the high quality standards and policies the company has.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead the development of a medical device, from 2D/3D/finite element design of the prototype, to managing the manufacture of necessary units for project development, managing bench tests, analyzing results, and writing reports.
2. Lead the device verification stage and generate the necessary documentation to present to the regulatory body.
3. Define the input and output requirements of the design (product specifications).
4. Design and draft project work plans.
5. Coordinate and supervise the execution of project work plans.
6. Coordinate and supervise the manufacture of new product units needed for different development phases (design, verification, and validation) while meeting the company's quality standards.
7. Ensure the technical feasibility and quality of proposed solutions.
8. Control the procedures of the different stages of the stent manufacturing process (laser cutting, deoxidation, shape setting, welding, and electropolishing) and handle the associated machines and equipment.
9. Define and review production documentation according to process controls of manufactured units.
10. Review the characterization of manufactured units and associated documentation.
11. Plan the production of different units.
12. Draft reports of work plans.
13. Lead the continuous improvement of the new product manufacturing process and implement it. Research and develop quality or cost improvements for products.
14. Lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of potential design failures of the new product.
15. Supervise the team to maintain machines, equipment, tools, and workrooms in perfect working and clean conditions.
16. Collaborate with the department head to develop project budgets and define the technical and human resources to achieve the set technical and economic objectives.
17. Coordinate and carry out the start-up of the production process of the products developed by them.
18. Define purchasing specifications and initially approve suppliers until the product is transferred to the factory, setting guidelines for subsequent procurement purchases.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's Industrial Engineering, especially in the Mechanical field or a similar one.
2. Previous experience working in an R+D department.
3. Previous experience working with CAD systems (especially Solidworks and Rhinoceros) and Ansys.
4. High capacity for multidisciplinary work, analytical capacity, creativity, integrity, cooperative spirit, communication skills.
5. Profile especially oriented towards critical evaluation and achieving objectives. Innovative sense, high self-esteem, and high expectations for professional development.
