Job Summary
Pontest, a worldwide distributor of lifestyle brands, is looking for a talented Purchasing Manager and Business Developer with solid experience in Business Development & Purchase in trading to join our team and help us grow. We are looking for a professional, motivated, and success-driven individual who can cultivate key account relationships as well as develop strategies for attracting new business. The Purchasing Manager - Business Developer plays a key role in a new strategic plan, which envisions continued growth in the EMEA and global market. Experience in trading is essential.
Responsibilities
• Developing business relationships with new suppliers to identify growth and upgrade opportunities.
• Actively seek out new purchase opportunities and develop long-term relationships with enterprise supplier prospects through cold calling, networking, and social media.
• Stay up to date with market news in all categories.
• Identify profitable product development opportunities.
• Prospect, search, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Increase the company’s supplier base and ensure a strong presence.
• Track all orders in progress with staff and team.
• Present frequent reports and reviews of purchases, expenses, and forecasts to the Director.
• Process information to perform numerical analyses that generate the best cost-benefit for existing and potential customers.
• Meet assigned quotas and regularly update supplier relationships.
• Expedite the resolution of supplier problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field; Master/MBA is a plus.
• Substantial experience within European B2B companies for lifestyle goods; experience in other markets and categories is a plus.
• Proactivity, persuasive, and strong analytical skills.
• Proven working experience in purchase and business development in categories such as lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and FMCG products.
• Language skills: Proficient in English; Spanish or French is a plus.
• Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; advanced Excel skills are a must.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• High communication and interpersonal skills, with persuasive ability while negotiating.
• Autonomous, commercially aggressive, and results-oriented.
• Ability to evaluate offers and make decisions.
• Self-motivated with the ability to excel with minimum supervision.
