What you will do
As an Engineer on Product Regulations, you will be responsible for the Certification of the newly developed products, as well as the collection, analysis, and reporting of new regulatory requests technically and commercially affecting Johnson Controls-Hitachi air conditioning products placed on the European Market.
Location: Vacarisses Plant, Barcelona
How you will do it
The engineer will be settled in the offices of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning factory. The Engineer will be a member of the Design Department of the JCH Factory, specifically on the Products Regulations Section.
Main expected tasks will be:
* Lead the new product Certification activities, in coordination with internal R&D teams for requirement definition and their application in the design, as well as with third-party external laboratories defining the certification action plan and its application.
* Follow up on new regulatory initiatives from different information sources.
* Punctual attendance at the Manufacturers associations meetings as Johnson Controls-Hitachi (JCH) representative as a discussion forum for such items.
* Analyze new regulations' impact on existing and upcoming products in the EU.
* Report to the factory and sales staff of JCH in Europe and other JCH factories outside.
* Provide comments to the stakeholders’ forums about the Regulation initiatives directly or by means of Manufacturers associations.
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (with preference but not limited to Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Sources, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or derived/similar profiles).
Minimum 5 years of similar experience.
Active experience in product certification and/or regulations or technical standards in similar products (household appliances, refrigeration appliances, etc.) is recommended.
Knowledge in Energy Efficiency and Renewable energy policies and technologies is appreciated.
Knowledge in Air Conditioning or similar product technologies is appreciated.
A high level of English in reading, writing, and speaking is necessary.
Skilled in office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary.
Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills both in writing and verbally.
Ability to actively listen, probe, and identify concerns. Understand the Regulatory concerns and other stakeholders' positions and speak their language.
Demonstrated strong technical subject matter expertise to foster credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders in discussion forums.
Ability to perform as a perfect team player.
