ABOUT THE ROLE AND THE TEAM :
The Knot Worldwide is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Sales for our French Market. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Sales Leaders, selling into small and medium-sized local businesses within the wedding industry across the country. You will be responsible for bringing and executing a playbook centered on meeting and exceeding new business goals, accurately forecasting and committing to monthly performance, coaching and developing future leaders, and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams. At your core, you should value accountability, and people development, and bring a metrics-based, performance, and data-driven mindset to your work.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Team Leadership and Development :
* Mentor and coach a group of managers and team leaders, overseeing an indirect team of 60+ people.
* Implement and drive sales processes while leveraging operational sales experience.
* Foster a high-performance culture by motivating and empowering the team through continuous learning, recognition, and performance excellence.
Client and Revenue Management :
* Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue projections to finance and executive teams.
* Use deep consultative sales skills to demonstrate the unique value proposition of the company, driving revenue across all categories.
* Own client relationships through strategic management and leadership, cultivating new revenue opportunities and nurturing long-term partnerships.
* Utilize existing client and agency relationships to drive large, long-term deals and generate new ones.
Market Strategy and Insights :
* Identify and cultivate new revenue opportunities with both new and existing clients.
* Analyze market trends, team performance, and client feedback to develop data-driven sales strategies that address challenges and opportunities.
* Communicate industry opportunities to management and lead initiatives to best position the company for success.
* Promote the company’s image and employer branding in France to attract top talent and enhance market presence.
Cross-Department Collaboration and Product Development :
* Represent the sales organization in internal / external meetings, articulating needs and goals to matrixed partners.
* Consult with the Product team to help shape product development in support of client needs.
* Strengthen inter-departmental communication and collaboration with marketing, operations, and other departments to optimize client offerings.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Adaptability :
* Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the sales teams, ensuring an equitable and collaborative work environment.
* Anticipate and address challenges proactively, ensuring business continuity and stability during changing conditions.
Strategic Presentations and Branding :
* Guide the creation of dynamic and persuasive presentations that demonstrate the company’s value to clients.
Travel and Market Presence :
* Conduct frequent short trips to France to engage with teams and meet clients, strengthening relationships and market understanding.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE :
* 7 years' experience in Sales; Business Development and Account Management
* 4 years' of people management experience (of between 30 - 50 people - mandatory)
* Proven skills in managing remote teams and developing others
* Previous experience working with sales teams in France
* Proven leadership and strategic skills
* Professional English (C1-C2) & Native French level
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
* Ability to work in fast-paced and evolving environments
* Based in Barcelona
