We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our multicultural team, that provides legal, compliance and IP support to the EMEA business. This team is part of the Bridgestone legal department within the Bridgestone West (EMEA & Americas) business. The Bridgestone Corporation Legal Department is a global legal community of more than two hundred Legal, Compliance & IP teammates, who are constantly looking for ways to share best practices and align their way of working across the globe.
Here’s a little taste of your challenge:
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for the EMEA region. You act as a true business partner and work closely together with global stakeholders from various departments. You are responsible for drafting and negotiating IT-focused and general commercial contracts and providing pragmatic, general risk based legal and compliance advice and training. Because data is at the core of BMS’ business, you will also need strong data privacy skills to support the sales teams close commercial deals. As part of the Bridgestone Legal Department, you will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary, global working groups on legal and non-legal projects such as legal tech, legal operations, diversity, way of working etc.

Who are you?
1. Master of Laws, preferably in English, from a university in Europe
2. around 6-8 years of work experience, gained in private practice and/or in-house
3. demonstrated experience with drafting and negotiating IT/Tech (SaaS) contracts and data privacy matters
4. team player with good commercial awareness, strong communication skills and a hands-on, solutions-oriented attitude
5. able to take responsibility and to work independently
6. able to handle changing environments and think outside of the box
7. patient, humble and capable of supporting a highly diverse client base spanning many cultures
8. living in the Netherlands (or Barcelona, Spain), fluent in English
9. willingness to train more junior members of the team
