You will be working within a legal team that provides support for the activities of AXA XL France on a wide range of legal matters (both French and international).

What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Be the point of contact and work as a true "Business Partner" for several underwriting departments;
2. Propose to underwriters, Middle office and risk consultants, solutions that comply with applicable law and are adapted to the needs of AXA XL's clients and partners;
3. Independently manage various projects and deadlines;
4. Provide assistance to AXA XL teams on complex legal issues;
5. Provide support to AXA XL's international transversal teams (Underwriting Delegation Governance; Claims Delegation Governance, etc.);
6. Review and validate various technical contractual documents (confidentiality agreements, mandates, co-reinsurance agreements, brokerage protocols, commercial contracts, etc.);
7. Support at the local level, the action of the APAC Europe / Global Legal team;
8. Act as a technical expert and provide support to the junior members of the team;
9. Support the Senior Legal Counsel for France in dealing with various complex projects / requests;
10. Support the Senior Legal Counsel for France on regulatory related matters in relation to supervisory requirements imposed by ACPR and other foreign regulators relevant to the Group’s operations;
11. Contribute to monitor legal and regulatory developments, with a specific focus on insurance and insurance distribution rules, contract and commercial law, financial crime regulation, and others that may be relevant to the XLIVSE French branch and their clients’ business;
12. Participate in the training of the company's underwriters, underwriting assistants, CDLs and claims handlers;
13. Monitor legal activities provided by external counsels.
Reporting
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel for France
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. 8 - 10 years of professional experience as a Lawyer, either inhouse or in private practice;
2. Master’s degree in private Law, preferably insurance law;
3. Specialized in insurance law (including global programs expertise), and related litigations;
4. French mother tongue, proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential – another language of the region would be a plus;
5. Organizational skills and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing needs and priorities;
6. Proactivity, ability to work independently, and aptitude for collaboration within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team;
7. Rapid comprehension, as well as analytical, conceptual and creative thinking;
8. Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and pedagogy;
9. Open-mindedness;
10. Team spirit;
11. Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
