Global Indirect Tax (VAT/ GST) Specialist (M/F/D)
The tax professional we are looking for needs to have proven expertise to provide inputs in the areas of European Value Added Tax (VAT) and/or Goods and Services (GST) compliance in multiple jurisdictions, process improvements, consulting, and tax technology for multinationals with a complex supply-chain structure.
The candidate will be involved in a variety of business projects and initiatives that require VAT/GST inputs/advice. These may include mergers & acquisitions, supply chain changes, legislative changes, and ERP related initiatives for SAP. The tax professional will be working closely on these projects and initiatives with Global Tax colleagues as well as with members of other functions located around the world.
The ideal candidate needs to have excellent communication skills to be able to explain complex VAT/GST advice to internal customers such as Agilent’s businesses or other global infrastructure functions. The ability to report status updates, key issues, and action items in a clear and concise manner is a must.
The candidate also needs to have the leadership skills to share knowledge and information with the VAT/GST team located in the company’s Tax Hub to facilitate the development of more junior colleagues and increase the depth of knowledge of the entire VAT/GST team in Agilent. The candidate will need to have a practical approach and work independently.
We are hiring in Barcelona and we are looking for a European tax background.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or University Degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with practical experience in the area of valued added tax compliance, consulting, and/or tax technology for multinational companies.
* Track record of indirect tax consulting/advising on complex supply chains.
* Practical experience needs to include exposure to European VAT compliance work, VAT/GST consulting on projects and/or involvement in ERP implementations or other ERP-related projects related to indirect tax.
* Experience with ERP system(s), especially SAP will be valued.
* Previous experience working at a large multinational organization will be valued.
* Project management experience a plus.
* Excellent English is mandatory; Spanish, German, and other languages are a plus.
