Reporting into the Head of Digital Infrastructure & Cloud Services your role will be to lead, support and develop the Core Infrastructure Platform Engineering team & services for Werfen.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Lead and develop a team of infrastructure platform engineers, providing technical mentorship, career development guidance, and performance management while promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
2. Create and execute strategic infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives, planning technology refreshes, platform upgrades, and architectural improvements while managing associated budgets and resources.
3. Develop, Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, policies, and best practices across the organisation, ensuring compliance with security requirements and industry regulations while optimizing operational efficiency.
4. Drive operational excellence through the implementation of SLAs, KPIs, and metrics-driven decision making, regularly reviewing and improving service delivery and team performance.
5. Manage vendor relationships and contracts, including hardware and software procurement, maintenance agreements, and professional services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and service quality.
6. Oversee and provide engineering expertise for critical infrastructure projects, including data center operations, obsolesence, disaster recovery implementations, and major system upgrades while managing risks and ensuring minimal business disruption.
7. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including development teams, R&D, Manufacturing, business unit leaders, and technology teams to understand business needs and align infrastructure capabilities.
8. Establish and maintain effective support schedules and escalation procedures, ensuring 24x7 support coverage while maintaining work-life balance for the team.
9. Lead incident management for critical infrastructure issues, coordinating response efforts across teams and ensuring proper root cause analysis and preventive measures are implemented.
10. Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for infrastructure services, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and cost optimization initiatives.
11. Champion automation and modern infrastructure practices, encouraging adoption of Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and DevOps methodologies where appropriate.
12. Promote cross-functional collaboration with other IT teams (Security, Network, Development) to deliver integrated solutions and maintain service quality.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
* 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments and Active Directory infrastructure
* 3+ years of experience with VMware vSphere administration and management
* 2+ years of experience managing enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS)
* 2+ years of experience with enterprise backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
* Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
* Demonstrated experience in managing and troubleshooting core infrastructure
* Desireable Certfications:- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Docker Certified Associate, RHCS Openshift Administration
