About the Institute:
The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) is a centre for research, education, production and outreach, with the mission of envisioning the future habitat of our society and building it in the present. IAAC follows the digital revolution at all scales (from bits to geography, from microcontrollers to cities, from materials to the territory) to expand the boundaries of architecture and design and meet the challenges faced by humanity. IAAC is currently looking for a Digital Fabrication Expert:
Tasks include:
– Supporting students, faculty & staff in existing educational and research projects, related to digital fabrication and design for manufacturing
– Teaching in Digital and Robotic Fabrication
– Contributing to the development of applied research projects, Industrial applications, architecture design and knowledge transfer.
– Active role in identifying and managing Industry collaborations and research fund opportunities.
Topics include :
– Architecture and Design
– Digital Fabrication
– Robotic Fabrication
– Computational Design
– Material research and performance
– Development of Pilot projects and mock ups
Required Skills
– Expertise in Digital Fabrication tools (Laser Cutter, Milling Machine, 3D printers... )
– Expertise in Parametric Design (Rhinoceros + Grasshopper 3D, Fusion 360, ...)
- Strong Architectural Design Skills
– Knowledge of Robotics is highly recommended
- Expertise in developing applied research projects (industry or research funded)
– Previous experience in managing and interacting with students
– Craftsmanship knowledge, applied to Architecture or Design
– High social skills, capable of interacting in multicultural and diverse environments.
– Autonomous, able to take on responsibilities
– Willing to learn, motivated, enthusiastic
Language: English (+ Spanish appreciated)
Visa status: Available
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, daily from 09.30 to 13.30 and from 14.00 to 18.30
Contract type: Full time (40h)

Salary: 25.000-33.000 based on profile
