IDIBELL is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Postdoc who wishes to deepen knowledge on the development of sarcoma metastases, combining wet lab techniques and bioinformatic analyses.
About the research group: The Sarcoma Research Group, led by Òscar Martinez-Tirado, is a multidisciplinary group which primarily aims to identify new metastatic markers and broaden the knowledge regarding their biological role in developing sarcomas, as well as identifying new therapeutic targets and validating new prognostic and predictive markers in sarcomas, through preclinical evaluation of new components for their treatment. The group combines extensive in vivo work, with a wide range of molecular biology and cell culture techniques. This preclinical evaluation includes epigenetic, proapoptotic and cell-cycle-blocking drugs.
About the role: We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in developing a scientific career in the field of Sarcomas. The researcher will work in an ongoing project on the molecular mechanisms of metastases in Ewing sarcoma. This project involves characterisation of metastases-associated genes, in vitro validation and bioinformatic analyses. The role includes supervision of Master students working in the same project.
Job requirements:
Professional experience: Background in molecular mechanisms of cancer (sarcoma experience valued)
Education and training: PhD in biomedical sciences: Medicine, Biology, Pharmacy or related biomedical discipline not earlier than 2019. Training on bioinformatics.
Technical skills: Cancer biology research (molecular biology, cell culture and in vitro techniques), Good command of bioinformatics (programming, array analysis, RNA-seq analysis)
Languages: Good command of the English language
We will value, but not required: Teaching experience (supervision of MSc students)
