We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Health and Safety Specialist, who will provide direct oversight and support for radiation protection and environmental health and safety for PETNET Solutions and Advanced Accelerator Applications MI PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities within Europe, England, and India.
Your Role:
* Provide daily remote operational support for radiation and environmental health and safety aspects related to manufacturing activities.
* Guide the implementation of radiation protection and EHS programs to address applicable regulations, company policy, and industry standards.
* Assist in the development of complex reporting to satisfy regulatory and corporate requirements.
* Evaluate the radiation protection and EHS impact of new processes/products to meet company objectives, and assist in engineering solutions to achieve those objectives.
* Oversee complex radiation protection and EHS projects such as onsite performance and compliance audits, due diligence reviews, and legal activities as required.
* Provide remote and onsite emergency response support as necessary.
* Independently perform advanced areas of work such as development, revisions, or technical review of operating procedures and technical basis documents.
* Apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently.
* Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
* Drive corporate safety culture and ALARP principles at assigned manufacturing facilities.
Your Expertise:
* Experience with compliance auditing.
* Familiarity with radioactive materials, environmental, and transport of dangerous goods regulations.
* Experience with implementation of an EHS Management System.
* Thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 suite of tools.
* A self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks with input from line manager as well as in collaboration with other key experts in the organization.
* Experience working remotely within a team while still maintaining personal accountability.
* Excellent verbal and written skills in order to succinctly and accurately convey the technical elements of regulatory and corporate programs to others inside and outside of the organization.
* A collaborative approach to problem solving that identifies and incorporates stakeholders in the development of solutions that facilitate compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Required Skills, Education and Experience for this position:
* Three to five years of experience in operations at a radiochemical/radiopharmaceutical manufacturing operation, with responsibilities similar to above; or in applied radiation protection in a facility which handled unsealed radioactive material.
* Degree/Certification in Medical Physics, Radiological Health, Radiation Protection, or equivalent.
* Ability to travel to assigned facilities within Europe, England, and India. Travel expectation is up to 30% annually.
* Hybrid work arrangement with ability to work from home.
* Must reside within Europe or England, preferably in one of the countries with assigned facilities.
* English is the main business language, however working fluency in other languages is a benefit.
