With operations in multiple countries, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and tax operations for our USA branch, based in our Barcelona, Spain headquarters.
Position Overview:
As the Controller for the USA branch, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting and tax operations for our business in the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of the USA tax and accounting system, as well as the ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business administration, extensive experience in a similar role, and a passion for precision and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounting operations for the USA branch, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
* Ensure compliance with all USA tax regulations, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
* Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for the USA branch.
* Collaborate with the global finance team to align financial reporting and processes.
* Monitor and implement changes in USA tax laws and accounting standards.
* Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities as needed.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational company.
* Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
* Deep knowledge of the USA tax and accounting system, including GAAP and IRS regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software (Business Central preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
