Data Engineer with knowledge in cloud design and architecture, data pipelines, Microservices, Python, Spark and Databricks technology, to assist in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of an integration system for the financial team.
What is the SAP Integration Team?
The team provides the capability and services to load and extract data on the Group finance system, based on SAP FICO, from different business systems.
Your role
You will collaborate with internal Zurich Finance teams and external IT suppliers to design cloud technical solutions. Your main responsibilities will be to assist in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of integration systems and architectures for the financial team. You’ll need to understand the current SAP Integration landscape and find synergies and improvements over the different services.
As a Data Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
* Support SAP Integration initiatives that improve current SAP Integration architecture & service.
* Design cloud-based solutions adapted to our customer requirements.
* Work with the team to understand available platform capabilities and how to apply them to Financial Integration Services.
* Review, assure and improve current service key capabilities (space management, service continuity, platform reliability, performance…).
* Dedicate time to continuous learning to keep the team appraised of the latest developments in the space.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Data Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* University degree in IT and/or Business or equivalent experience.
* 4-5 years’ experience in Cloud Architecture, including AWS microservices and Databricks.
* Ability to work independently.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
* Strong Knowledge of available Cloud platforms & capabilities.
* Understanding of serverless architecture and alternatives.
* Knowledge of conceptual, logical and physical database designs.
* Experience with Python/Pyspark/SparkSQL scripting.
* Experience working with Terraform workflows.
* Nice to have: Knowledge of Databricks technology and experience with SAP platforms.

* Strong English (written and spoken).
* Good communication, listening and questioning skills.
* Good business knowledge.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Ability and confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.

* Occasional travel required within Europe or Globally.
* Option to work remotely within Spain even up to 100% - you choose; with the option to work abroad up to 25 days yearly.
