* As an Investment Accountant, you will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly closing and reporting. Furthermore, you will work in the maintenance and reporting of local regulation reporting.
Your role
As an Investment Accountant, your main responsibilities will involve:
* Performing the monthly hard close process and investment data delivery to ensure efficient high-quality delivery and appropriate sign-off procedures.
* Responsible for the monthly and quarterly closing for European and Latin America companies under Local and IFRS rules.
* Implement local or Group changes related to the chart of account, valuation principles, and reporting requirements.
* Ensure compliance of sub-ledger with local and group requirements: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Local Statutory and regulatory/Tax Accounting Principles (SAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other external or internal policies or guidelines, e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
* Resolving operational day-to-day problems identified by the accounting department or referred from other functional areas, ensuring an efficient and high-quality service, including the management of complex issues according to the Group Incident Management Policy.
* Deliver reports which provide insight to CIOs and CFOs on the catalyst for investment accounting results and how investment data has developed over time.
* Determine, explain, and interpret the main drivers of investment results across almost all operational asset classes, their lifecycle, and how it is presented in BS/PL by using appropriate tools like SAP BI, BW.
* Ensure high quality of financial figures and accurate implementation of new reporting requirements.
* You will be involved in different International Projects.
Your Skills and Experience
As an Investment Accountant, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and 5 or more years of experience in a related field is required.
* Preferred: Master's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance. Advanced knowledge in accounting.
* Good knowledge of Investments and Financial Markets.
* High knowledge of IFRS rules.
* Excellent understanding of investment sub-ledger systems such as SAP FAM (SAP Investments).
* High knowledge in Office tools.
* Good spoken and written English; another language is an advantage.
* Certificates Preferred: CA, CPA, or ACA qualification with 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Fast learning and proactive attitude.
* Willing to take ownership, hardworking, persistent, able to work under pressure, team-oriented personality, and client-focused.
* Global thinking to understand the dependencies within a multinational company.
