The Testing Trainee will play an essential role in the testing and validation of our batteries through to full production and delivery. You will support a talented and growing team of battery designers and engineers through the project stages of multiple high-value battery designs, including analysis and verification of initial specifications.
Responsibilities
* Learn to generate and execute test experiments based on the requirements and objectives defined by the engineering team.
* Collaborate with the engineering team and specialized suppliers to ensure the tests are representative and reliable.
* Use reporting and automation tools to work with a large number of tests and parameters, drawing conclusions for the engineering and executive teams.
* Familiarize yourself with the use of common battery testing equipment such as cell sorters, cell cyclers, thermal runaway containers, power supplies, etc.
* Support the management of other testing team members.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
* Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, chemistry, or material science.
* Interest in learning about testing in lab environments and understanding lithium-ion battery cells and packs.
* Ability to process and summarize test data.
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus on critical objectives to accomplish the mission.
* Interest in learning about battery cycler equipment such as Arbin, etc. and their use in appropriate applications.
* Fluency in English and Spanish. Other languages is a plus.
