Product Engineer
This role offers an opportunity to join our international Engineering team in Sant Cugat del Valles as a Product Engineer.
You will be working closely with different customers, sales teams, and production plants in Europe to design custom hole-making tools for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Independently design, layout, and optimize tools according to design order specifications, Kennametal guidelines, and customer requirements.
* Engage in detailed clarifications with customers, sales representatives, application engineers, concept engineers, routing, and production teams.
* Participate in project meetings and conduct reviews.
* Prepare production documents (parts lists, classification, organization of documents in PLM systems).
* Develop and optimize existing tooling solutions.
* Standardize and support design automation of product lines.
* Review designs independently and monitor deadlines.
* Modify production and customer drawings.
* Provide technical support to marketing, product engineering, sales, and concept engineering teams.
* Support and train colleagues from other locations.
* Pursue further training in machining technology, digitalization, automation, and CAD.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Mechanical Engineer with experience in 3D design or Technical Apprenticeship with further training as technician:
o Professional experience in metal-cutting shaping with CNC machines and modern tool systems
o Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
* Proficient use of 3D CAD programs, preferably Siemens NX.
* Familiarity with 2D AutoCAD is desirable.
* Aquaintance with SAP is desirable.
* Excellent language skills in English (spoken and written), good language skills in German are desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
