As the Proximity Channel Manager Spain, you will be the driving force behind Affinity's commercial strategy for the proximity and convenience channel nationwide.
You will lead the acquisition and development of key distributors, fostering strong, long-term relationships that maximize the potential of our brands in the pet food category. We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of the channel, strong connections with the most relevant impulse distributors at both national and regional levels, and a strategic vision to define the channel's strategy, positioning, and future organizational structure.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to build trust-based relationships, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong sense of ownership.
What you will do
1. Develop and implement the commercial strategy and distributor relationships:
Execute the company's commercial strategies in the proximity channel, defining the commercial policy and ensuring alignment with sales and profitability objectives.
2. Lead the acquisition, engagement, and development of distributor partners:
Create joint business plans, set sales targets, define commercial priorities, and establish KPIs.
3. Negotiate commercial agreements:
Manage portfolio, promotions, supply conditions, and specific actions with distributors to maximize product visibility and positioning at the point of sale.
4. Business Development:
Identify growth opportunities within the channel, such as new clients, geographic expansions, or emerging category development. Analyze market trends and competitors to adjust commercial strategies and optimize results.
5. Key Account Management:
Develop, negotiate, and execute tailored commercial plans with the key customers in the proximity channel. Maintain strong relationships with purchasing managers and key decision-makers.
6. Execution at the Point of Sale:
Negotiate and implement customized plans for our top clients, ensuring every detail is optimized, from product assortment to promotional execution and merchandising materials. Work closely with field and merchandising teams to ensure flawless in-store execution.
7. KPI Management & Analysis:
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales volume, numerical and weighted distribution, innovation speed, profitability, and budget compliance. Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights for continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
1. Education & Experience:
University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related fields. Strong knowledge and ideally more than 5 years of experience in leadership roles within the Convenience, Proximity, or Impulse channels (snacks, beverages, confectionery). Proven experience in distributor management and key customer relationships within the convenience and proximity channel. Background in Key Account Management, Business Development, and Trade Marketing, ideally in FMCG and/or impulse channel companies.
2. Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of negotiation techniques and commercial management. Proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, Power BI, and CRM systems). Strong proficiency in PowerPoint. Financial acumen to manage the channel's P&L.
3. Key Competencies:

4. Other Requirements:
Availability to travel. Fluency in English and Spanish.
