The Patient Engagement in Research Area at the Sant Joan de Déu Foundation is looking for a professional to manage the communication tasks of the Share4Rare platform ( as well as other projects related to science communication.
Share4Rare is an online platform that brings together a patient community and various research projects focused on rare diseases. These projects are based on the donation of medical and quality-of-life information by adult patients and caregivers of children living with a rare disease. Share4Rare offers services to researchers interested in conducting collaborative research initiatives with patients and families at both national and international levels, enabling research into a group of diseases characterized by low prevalence.
The communication activities of the Area include: management of social media, creation of blog posts and news content, design of outreach materials, reporting on research project results, and the scientific management and editing of the podcast "La Ciencia de lo Singular," among other actions.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join an interdisciplinary team involved in numerous internal, national, and international projects. We offer ongoing training opportunities.
Main Responsibilities Creation of content for different types of outreach materials and in various formats: blog articles, video and podcast scripts, brochures, posters, newsletters, presentations, social media, etc.
Creation, review, and editing of educational content related to the institution's research.
Management and updating of the website, social media, and other platforms with relevant content.
Independent visual layout design for generating presentations, graphics for social media, and other visual materials.
Analysis of website and social media metrics.
Coordination of the department's communication and facilitation of interaction and information flow with the communication teams of IRSJD and HSJD.
Support in organizing events, talks, and conferences.
Preparation, planning, and conducting of interviews.
Requirements Academic background in communication and/or scientific fields.
Excellent writing skills and ability to create engaging, accurate, and relevant content.
Ability to adapt tone and style according to the target audience and communication channels.
Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
Initiative, autonomy, and proactivity.
Creativity and innovation in developing new formats.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with different departments within the institution.
Basic knowledge of SEO and email marketing campaigns; experience with Mailchimp.
Experience using Canva for design tasks.
Proficiency in social media management platforms such as Notion and Metricool.
Experience with content management systems (CMS): Drupal.
High level of English proficiency.
