Job Description
As a Controls Engineer your main functions/tasks will be:
1. Programming and Commissioning PLC and SCADA, adapting the functionality of the machine to the project definition.
2. Resolution and diagnosis of system faults both in the factory and at customer's site.
3. Remote technical support (internal and external) for our install base worldwide.
4. Technical support in FAT and CAT.
5. Start-up in the customer's house with debugging of all the functionalities of the machines.
6. Providing customer training.
7. Generation of manuals and technical documentation.
8. Inform management about the technical situation of the projects in which he has had to assist.
9. Generate a report on the resolution of each incident so that there is a database to use to base a client's history or subsequent review of a similar breakdown.
10. Support the departments involved in the project assembly process so that they can provide tools or technical strategies.
11. Incidents managed and creating feedback for the client.
12. Support products Vanderlande subsystem in the integrated product.
Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (e.g. Electronics, Mechatronics or Software related).
2. 3-5 years’ experience in material handling, automation or related industry.
3. Knowledge of TIA Portal, WinCC SCADA, etc.
4. Understand Electrical drawings.
5. Electrical knowledge for validation, detection of failures, troubleshooting.
6. Knowledge/Experience of EU and US electrical and safety norms.
7. Experience with Frequency Inverters, HMI and other related products.
8. Experience in the field with machine installation/start up/commissioning/service.
9. Direct experience on programming with PLC controlled systems, including safety designs, motor protection and control, and Industrial Communication and networking (i.e. ASibus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Profinet).
10. Excellent reading/writing/speaking in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience field engineering on site.
2. Experience in Linux.
3. Customer facing experience.
4. Affinity with computer science.
What will you be doing?
As Controls engineer you will be part of the specialist PAX team. This team is responsible for the deployment and 3rd level support of our systems. Support of our installation base or during installations could take place via a remote connection or onsite if needed. This means you will travel 50-60% of the time. This gives you the opportunities to see different countries and experience different cultures.
You will work with the PAX team on automated airport lines. Manufacturing takes place in Santpedor. When you are not traveling you will be in the factory supporting the service manager, supporting factory/engineering, developments, projects or test scenarios of situations in the field. In addition, you will be the go to person for 3rd line support.

Travelling:
You will spend 50-60% of your time travelling, mainly in Europe but could also be worldwide and the rest in Santpedor, where the factory is located. When in Santpedor, flexible time schedule and remote work (60% home – 40% factory) when tasks allow it.
