Our company, a global leader in the chemical sector, is a multinational organization with a rich history of innovation and excellence. As they continue to expand their operations, we are seeking a talented and motivated Automation Engineer to join their team in Barcelona.
Job Purpose :
The Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting their sites in their Operational Technology (OT) & Automation journey. This position involves providing technical expertise to specify, install, maintain, and safeguard Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and associated systems. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with sites and regional teams to enhance existing automation capabilities, identify future opportunities, and create roadmaps for automation projects aligned with our business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide hands-on expertise and technical guidance to the site on control system repairs, design changes, and projects.
* Develop, update, and maintain the digital map (network architecture) of the Industrial Control System (ICS), including equipment locations, IP/MAC addresses, routes, etc.
* Implement effective backup and recovery measures of the (ICS) software.
* Update and maintain the site’s business continuity plan related to the Industrial control system.
* Support Site Responsible Engineer/s in maintaining (ICS) Spares Inventory.
As nominated Site Cyber Security Officer (SCSO):
* Ensure OT cybersecurity standards and policies are implemented and report compliance.
* Execute periodic Cybersecurity Risk Assessments/Vulnerability Assessments of the Systems.
* Communicate site-specific cybersecurity requirements to suppliers and contractors.
* Attend and lead ICS awareness training at the site.
* Supervise the Threat and Vulnerability identification process.
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Industrial Control, or similar field.
* Minimum 3/5 years of relevant work experience.
* Previous experience in factory digital transformation programs.
* Control System maintenance experience in a large, high-volume manufacturing facility.
* Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, network architecture, and data collection methodologies.
* Experience in programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell, ABB, etc.
* Field instrument experience.
