IRTA is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Researcher with a PhD related to Economics, Applied Economics or Agricultural Economy to join the Agrifood Economics Program. We invite applications from ambitious candidates with relevant research experience and passion to conduct research and innovation activities on socioeconomic analysis of issues related to the production, processing, and consumption of food products as well as the interactions of food system with natural resources and the environment.Head of the Program: Dr Jose Mª GilJob location: CREDA (UPC – Castelldefels)Full-time position: 37.5 h/weekTerms of appointment: permanent position or IRTA Consolida (tenure track) position subject to the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.Gross Annual Salary: to be resolved according to the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.Employee Benefits: 22 vacation days, 3 days of family work conciliation, 45h of personal time, Friday afternoon off, Compressed Summer schedule from 15/06 to 15/09, Conciliation scheduleTasks and Responsibilities:To design, lead and participate in public and private research projects in the field of agrifood economics.To actively contribute to uptake R+D+I economic funds from both public institutions (competitive calls) and private agreements within the agrifood sector.To write scientific papers and reports based on the research activity as well as to participate in technology transfer and/or advice activities addressed to both public and private sectors.To develop and lead research relationships with other researchers belonging to national and international research centres and universities either from the socioeconomic area or from other research disciplines related to the agrifood sector.To develop and maintain contacts with potential users of R+D+i activities along the food-supply chain as well to actively participate in dissemination activities.To contribute and collaborate in human capital formation by supervising PhD and master thesis on agro-food economics.Required qualifications and experience:PhD in Economics, Applied Economics or Agricultural Economics.Experience in participating in national and/or European projects from competitive calls.Proved experience in agricultural `policy modelling (mainly in General equilibrium or partial equilibrium models)At least 10 publications in Impact factor journals (JCR, SCOPUS) being the first or the last author.Desirable requirements:Good knowledge of quantitative methods (econometric models, time series econometric and/or mathematical programming tools) applied to modelling agricultural and food policies and markets.Good knowledge of microeconomic theory and agricultural and food policies.Experience in using agricultural and food databases at local, regional, national, European and international levels.Experience in getting primary information: surveys, questionnaires, deep interviews, Focus groups, etc.Languages:Proficiency in English.Catalan and Spanish are valued.Application process:If you wish to be considered for this position, please, apply via our Recruitment Platform to the job post with reference 29/25 and upload your CV and motivation letter until 23/03/2025.
