APM Terminals
PURPOSE
Project Delivery is a key value driver in APM Terminals SGW. Our ability to constantly develop and upgrade our terminals, establish an operational organization and secure commercial business delivers real NPV to APMT SGW. APMT SGW’s portfolio encompasses several key projects. The successful development and deployment of these projects necessitate the augmentation of our Reliability Department’s project team through the addition of a Project Engineer. The primary objective of this role is to lead Technical Projects throughout their entire life cycle. The Project Engineer will be entrusted with the responsibility of defining the technical specifications in alignment with the Terminal’s requirements. They will also ensure the delivery of projects within the defined time, scope, and budget.
Responsibilities:
* Technical expertise: Develop the technical specification of the projects ensuring proper tendering process.
* Project Planning: Prepare detailed project plans, setting schedules, budget, risk and communication plans for all stakeholders.
* Manage and control the execution of each step of the project.
* Managing Budgets and Timelines: Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Risk Management: Track project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
* Integration management: Ensure proper coordination of several terminal departments and manage project interfaces.
* Stakeholder Communication: Align projects with customer needs and requirements, construct detailed work plans, achieve milestones, and communicate results across a stakeholder audience.
* Permitting: Manage the obtention of proper construction permits with involved stakeholders (port authorities, municipalities, service providers).
Reporting and Scope:
* The direct reporting line will be to the Engineering Projects Manager.
* The functional reporting line is to the assigned APMT PGW management.
* Geographical scope: local.
Work/ Business Contacts and Authority:
Internal:
* Asset Maintenance Team at the terminal.
* Global Design & Engineering team.
* Relevant internal stakeholders.
* Interaction with other terminals to share and implement best practices.
External:
* OEM & Vendors.
* Port Authorities.
Skills:
* Team player.
* Strong understanding of procedures, processes and project controls.
* Good communication skills.
* Fluent in Spanish and English.
* Driven, result-oriented.
* High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
* High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.
* Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment.
Core Technical Skills:
* 5 years’ experience as Project Engineer (Infrastructure and/or civil projects).
* Relevant experience in AutoCAD.
* Experience with project controls and/or project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira Work Management).
* Experience in container terminal projects is an advantage.
* Experience in on-site surveying of infrastructure construction projects is a must.
Education:
* Civil Engineer or Industrial Engineer.
* PMP or similar Project Management certification is a must.
