Senior Researcher and Deputy to the Program Head in Agro-Food Economy
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our esteemed public research institution as a Doctor in Economics. The successful candidate will assume a key role in leading and overseeing R&D projects and services, contributing to the modernization and enhancement of the agro-food sector within a sustainable development framework.
The appointed individual will be responsible for:
* Spearheading and overseeing the scientific and technical execution of R&D projects and services, ensuring their progress and quality;
* Collaborating with the Program Head to supervise research program projects, providing support to research staff and ensuring the achievement of established objectives;
* Orchestrating scientific activities, assessing proposals, and overseeing European projects within the program;
* Identifying research-driven needs to facilitate resource allocation and ensure the achievement of established objectives;
* Providing guidance and fostering the professional development of program personnel;
* Cultivating human capital by supervising doctoral and master's theses in Agro-Food Economics;
* Designing, leading, and participating in public and private research projects in the field of Agro-Food economics;
* Contributing to uptake R+D+I economic funds from public institutions and private agreements within the agro-food sector;
* Writing scientific papers and reports based on research activity and participating in technology transfer and/or advice activities;
* Developing and leading research relationships with national and international research centers and universities;
* Maintaining contacts with potential users of R+D+i activities along the food-supply chain and participating in dissemination activities.
Requirements include:
* A PhD in Economics, Applied Economics, or Agricultural Economics;
* Proven expertise in research involving socio-economic analysis of issues pertaining to the production, processing, and consumption of food products;
* Experience in participating in national and/or European projects from competitive calls;
* At least 20 publications in Impact factor journals (JCR, SCOPUS) as the first or last author;
* Good knowledge of quantitative methods applied to modeling agricultural and food policies and markets;
* Good knowledge of microeconomic theory and agricultural and food policies;
* Experience in using agricultural and food databases at local, regional, national, European, and international levels;
* Proficiency in leadership or personnel development;
* Working knowledge of English.
