The Opportunity
The EMEA Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing Commercial Capabilities and the Commercial Excellence roadmap across the EMEA region, supporting and leading:
* The Profitable Growth – RGM/Value Creation roadmap, including fuel and trade investment allocation (terms and shopper spend) across markets.
* Supporting Commercial Priorities by market (BU Commercial Plans): Providing vital support for market-specific commercial priorities aligned with the Business Unit (BU) Commercial Plans.
* Driving the Commercial Transformation Journey: Leading and supporting the Commercial Transformation process, with a focus on enhancing market-level Commercial Planning, elevating Customer Business Planning with key retailers, and improving commercial organizations.
This senior position will act as a strategic partner, elevating analytical capabilities, implementing innovative commercial strategies, and fostering sustainable growth across diverse markets.
What you'll get to do
Driving Commercial Capabilities and Excellence
* Enhance commercial capabilities across the EMEA region by implementing best practices in revenue growth management, trade terms optimization, and shopper investment strategies.
* Lead the RGM roadmap, focusing on optimizing fuel and trade investment allocation to maximize top-line and bottom-line growth.
* Support markets in developing and executing subsidiary-specific commercial plans, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and tailored approaches for individual markets.
Commercial Planning & Business Planning Elevation
* Elevate customer and commercial business planning processes, including customer segmentation, resource allocation, and monitoring.
* Provide tools and frameworks to enhance business planning capabilities across key markets and accounts.
* Partner with local commercial teams and key retailers, if needed, to co-develop joint business plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering measurable growth.
Key Commercial Projects
* Lead and participate in strategic commercial projects across the EMEA region, ensuring they align with market and regional priorities. As an example, new brands integration commercial projects and frameworks.
* Monitor and report on project progress, delivering actionable insights to optimize execution and outcomes.
* Identify and implement innovations in commercial planning and execution to enhance overall performance.
Analytics & Reporting
* Deliver timely and accurate reporting on sales performance, trade investments, and P&L metrics to support strategic decisions.
* Build and maintain dashboards and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to automate reporting and facilitate real-time assessments for regional and market teams.
* Provide actionable insights derived from data analytics to inform commercial planning and decision-making processes.
Commercial Operations Support
* Oversee trade allowances, commercial conditions, and communication processes with sales teams.
* Ensure strong governance of commercial agreements, stock monitoring on the region key retailers, and pilot issues like grey markets and commercial frameworks compliance for Prestige, Niche, MakeUP and SkinCare categories.
Team Leadership and Development
* Support the development of the team, providing coaching, mentoring, and career growth opportunities. Ensure alignment of team objectives with broader commercial goals.
We'd love to meet you if you have
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
* Fluent in English (essential). Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the EMEA region is an advantage.
* At least 10 years of professional experience in commercial roles, including customer management, trade marketing, net revenue management, or commercial strategy consulting.
* Demonstrated experience in leading commercial planning processes and driving strategic initiatives across multiple markets.
* Proven ability to collaborate with market organizations and effectively influence and manage diverse stakeholders.
