We are seeking a proactive and innovative Risk Analyst with experience in non-traditional financial environments (device renting, leasing, mini-loans, subscriptions, etc.) to drive comprehensive risk management and fraud prevention.
Job Description:
As a Risk Analyst at Telerenta, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with our business model. You will design, validate, and continuously optimize decision models and rules while managing operational issues such as chargebacks and disputes. Working cross-functionally with Data Science, Customer Service, Debt Collection, and other departments, you will ensure risk strategies are tailored to both B2C and B2B challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Risk Assessment and Modeling:
o Design and implement standard and customized models and methodologies to evaluate credit and fraud risk in sectors such as renting, leasing, mini-loans, and subscriptions.
o Conduct back-testing and continuously refine decision rules based on emerging market trends.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Extract, analyze, and visualize data using advanced tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, etc.) to support data-driven risk management decisions.
o Develop and communicate dashboards and reports with actionable insights for senior management.
3. Fraud Prevention and Incident Management:
o Develop and implement strategies for early fraud detection and prevention, identifying suspicious patterns and optimizing fraud rules.
o Manage and analyze chargebacks and disputes, collaborating with payment processors, card issuers, and, when necessary, with regulatory authorities or law enforcement.
o Investigate fraud cases thoroughly and contribute to improvements in underwriting processes.
4. Process Optimization and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Lead initiatives to optimize and automate risk analysis processes, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
o Work closely with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams (including Data Science and Customer Service) and contribute to training new team members on risk methodologies.
5. Decision Making Under Pressure:
o Analyze complex scenarios and make informed decisions in critical situations, adapting to the specific demands of the Spanish market and business needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Experience and Education:
o A minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk analysis and management in non-traditional financial environments (device renting, leasing, mini-loans, subscriptions, etc.) in both B2C and B2B contexts.
o A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, economics, business analytics, or similar).
o Advanced proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, etc.).
o Hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or AI models, with an emphasis on data anonymization.
o Proven expertise in managing chargebacks, disputes, and conducting comprehensive fraud investigations, including collaboration with authorities when required.
2. Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proactive mindset to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
o Excellent communication skills to clearly present insights at all organizational levels.
o A team player with experience working in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
