JOB OVERVIEW
Within the Digital Platform CoE team, the Digital SAP Platform Expert will provide expertise on solution design & build, troubleshooting expertise, systems monitoring, and performance.
JOB SUMMARY
The Digital SAP Platform Expert will be accountable for driving key technical platform processes and standards, handling technical projects, initiatives, and improvement action plans. He/she will contribute to building and maintaining a sustainable SAP platform and will own the product availability matrix for all components under his/her responsibility. During the execution phase, he/she will implement quality gates to ensure that the implementation partner follows the defined rules with proper documentation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties of the Digital SAP Platform Expert are:
* Design:
- Design and coordinate with Digital Tech to create BASIS best practices documents.
- Develop expertise in administration for SAP ECC, HANA, S/4, BW4HANA 2.0, BI4, BTP, CPI, PI, Data Services, Archiving/OpenText, and other related technologies.
- Liaise with Digital Tech to formulate the detailed project plan for platform management stream.
- Ensure right sizing of the platform and evolutions aligned with project scope evolutions.
- Liaise with SAP expertise, Max Attention, and all SAP services related to platform activities.
* Implementation and support:
- Manage the product availability matrix.
- Work closely with the implementation partner and lead the stream for all SAP Application management activities.
- Set quality gates to ensure the implementation partner follows agreed rules and manage the project plan with deliverables and timelines.
- Propose and implement action plans to improve platform performance, ways of working, and delivery of technical services.
- Manage access to the SAP support portal.
- Install technical components within the solution.
- Ensure performance platform optimization plan.
- Ensure data volume management and archiving strategy.
- Configure data and document archiving components.
- Execute and document basis configuration not covered by third parties.
- Support functional teams on basis activities (troubleshooting, performance, notes).
- Analyze health check reports regularly and build associated action plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- Graduated from engineering, computer science, or Digital school, Master’s degree or equivalent.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of work experience on SAP Basis, including similar technical platform management activities.
- Deep expertise in SAP architecture, components, and SAP basis (hands-on).
- General expertise in IT infrastructure technologies (SQL, HANA, Oracle DB, Servers, OS) and Cloud services.
- Deep knowledge in SAP performance optimization (Basis, HANA, SQL statements, etc.).
- Integration technologies (ALE/RFC/Idocs, Web Services, Odata, Tibco, Informatica, RFC/iDoc).
- Significant experience in IT service management and tools (ITIL, ServiceNow, Solman).
- Some experience in Project Management, involving Agile and Digital methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple and parallel SAP platform lifecycles.
- A good track record in SAP projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and IS tools.
