The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Regulatory Affairs Associate (specifically for feed) to join our consultancy.
You will get the opportunity to work alongside our experienced team on a variety of challenging and innovative projects within the animal nutrition sector.
Day to day, you will manage our relationships with leading players in the industry and over time you will build up your own technical specialisation.
Over time, you will also get the opportunity to occasionally promote Pen & Tec at various events. This role is a great step for someone looking to develop their skills in Regulatory Affairs and animal nutrition.
You will work with a wonderfully experienced multicultural team whilst having the flexibility of working from home (office days required during trial period).
You will need to be located in Barcelona and will get to enjoy tax-free benefits, medical insurance, and other perks following a successful 6 month trial period.
Your duties will include:
1. Gaining knowledge on relevant EU food chain legislation and applying relevant EU / EFSA guidance documents.
2. Learning how to draft technical dossiers and design studies to support them.
3. Learning how to manage applications through e-Submission Food Chain Platform and post-submission requests from EURL, EC or EFSA.
4. Performing feasibility assessments and data audits and keep gap analyses updated.
5. Drafting protocols and reviewing study reports.
6. Performing raw data checks or statistical analysis.
7. Liaising with external laboratories and suppliers.
8. Learning how to notify studies in EFSA Connect Portal and submit Public Access to Documents requests.
9. Verifying legal status of ingredients.
10. Building effective communication with clients and relevant EU authorities.
11. Assisting clients with non-EU regulatory requests and following up with clients after work has been delivered, working towards upselling and managing budgets.
12. Improving and developing project management skills to keep internal project management systems up to date.
13. Any other duties as may reasonably be required and that fall within the scope and range of the job.
We are looking for someone who is flexible with strong interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, self-motivated, and can work to strict timelines.
Budget awareness and attention to detail are vital for you to be successful in this role. Pen & Tec’s working language is English, so it is important that you are proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
The ideal candidate will be: a graduate in veterinary medicine, veterinary sciences, animal science, chemistry, or similar and have knowledge of statistics, bioinformatics, and toxicology.
You will ideally have prior experience in Regulatory Affairs, and related experience with feed additives is a plus!
