The IT Asset and Licence Manager will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing IT assets and licences, with a key emphasis on Microsoft licences. The position involves overseeing the full lifecycle of software licences, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory standards, and utilizing asset management tools like Device 42 to maintain accurate asset records (with occasional involvement in hardware and cloud resources). This role bridges IT and procurement, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and optimize software licences, with a primary focus on Microsoft, while also handling licences for Oracle and Adobe.
* Oversee the lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud resources.
* Implement policies for the secure disposal of outdated or obsolete assets.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory standards for software licences.
* Work closely with procurement, legal, and finance teams to track licensing agreements, renewal dates, and usage patterns.
* Use Device 42 to maintain a centralized inventory of IT assets, including servers, clients, and network devices.
* Perform regular audits and analyze asset utilization data to identify optimization opportunities and cost savings.
* Provide regular reports to senior management on asset utilization, costs, compliance, and performance.
What You’ll Need:
* At least 4 years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, or a related function.
* Strong knowledge of software licensing, particularly Microsoft, and familiarity with Oracle and Adobe licences.
* Experience with IT asset management tools (preferably Device 42).
* Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, software licensing models, and compliance frameworks.
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, able to navigate both technical and procurement discussions.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
* Advanced English proficiency is essential; additional languages (German, French, or Italian) will be highly valued.
* Familiarity with CITAM principles is a plus, though certification is not required.
