Company Summary: A leading and innovative company in the industrial automation sector is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Director to join their team in Girona. This is a unique opportunity to drive the strategic direction and execution of end-to-end supply chain processes, covering planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. The role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, a strategic mindset, and the ability to foster continuous improvement in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for:
1. Department Management:
o Direct and manage the entire Supply Chain department, including the three sub-departments: purchasing, procurement, and logistics.
o Monitor team performance and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
o Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies in the management of the department.
o Coordinate with other departments to ensure an efficient work flow.
2. Purchasing Management:
o Develop and execute purchasing strategies to create an efficient flow of necessary components.
o Select and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery times.
o Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with strategic suppliers.
o Manage supplier relationships.
o Ensure the availability of raw materials and necessary materials for production.
o Monitor daily purchasing activities.
3. Inventory Control:
o Monitor and optimize stock levels to avoid cost overruns or stockouts.
o Coordinate with production and sales to adjust inventory to demand.
o Use technological tools for real-time inventory tracking.
o Implement inventory management systems.
o Supervise and conduct internal audits periodically.
4. Logistics Management:
o Plan and optimize distribution transport routes, coordinating with the logistics department.
o Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in transport operations.
o Manage relationships and address issues with logistics operators and carriers.
o Manage and supervise product returns.
5. Planning and Organization:
o Organize and structure the Supply Chain department.
o Develop strategic supply plans based on demand.
o Establish short-, medium-, and long-term planning strategies to optimize resources.
6. Optimization and Improvement:
o Identify areas for improvement in the supply chain and implement strategies to optimize costs and lead times.
o Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies and automation to drive innovation.
o Promote continuous improvement in all Supply Chain processes.
7. Compliance:
o Ensure that all operations comply with current regulations and stay updated on new policies or regulations.
o Manage the necessary certifications to operate in national and international markets.
The Supply Chain Director should have the following qualifications:
* Proven experience in Supply Chain or other relevant experience.
* Leadership experience with a track record of managing teams.
* Machinery Plant sector, Metal industry is ideal.
* Understanding of technical drawings.
* Experience with dealing with OEM, Raw Materials or Semi-finished suppliers.
