Job Description
The Global Head of Distribution Logistics will provide strategic direction and operational alignment across regions and countries to elevate delivery performance on a global scale. This role will be in charge of crafting a unified, high-performance last-mile logistics strategy that equips regional teams with the tools and frameworks needed to execute scalable, cost-effective solutions tailored to their local market demands.
With a focus on enhancing our end-to-end delivery network and fostering synergies across diverse markets, the primary logistics head will aim to reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and drive our commitment to sustainability through innovative, eco-conscious practices. This includes implementing data-driven performance metrics and establishing continuous improvement initiatives that refine delivery routes, enhance service reliability, and contribute to the reduction of the organization's carbon footprint.
The ideal candidate will bring a strategic and data-driven mindset, leveraging analytics to drive operational excellence and continuously adapt our last-mile logistics to meet evolving market expectations. Above all, this leader will champion a customer-centric approach, turning our last-mile logistics operations into a competitive advantage that enhances brand loyalty and positions the company as an industry leader in modern, sustainable logistics solutions.
This position reports to the Global Head of Logistics.
Key Responsibilities
* Definition of Global guidelines and procedures of Transportation and Warehousing: Develop and implement global logistics strategies that enhance last mile delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
* Establish the requirements and conditions for the Freight Tender + Bidding process at global level. Manage logistics providers to ensure performance meets expectations and costs are within budget.
* Global standardization of Distribution Logistics Modus Operandi, reducing time on execution and contributing to the effectiveness of corporate governance.
* Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary. Ensuring expertise and effectiveness across operating platforms.
* Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers. Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions, as well as identification of opportunities for process streamline and improvement.
* Build and maintain communication channels among all operational groups within the Logistic through information sharing, thought leadership, and tactical and strategic planning.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a global team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
* Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and delivery partners to ensure high performance and cost efficiency.
* Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to last mile delivery: Main KPI´s - On Time Shipment; Perfect Order Rate (OTIF); Total Logistics Costs; Logistics costs over sales (in %); Delivery Time; among others.
* Technology Integration: Leverage advanced logistics technologies and systems to optimize last mile delivery processes.
* Budget Management: Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising service quality.
* Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with international regulations and company policies.
* Innovation: Drive innovation in last mile delivery solutions, exploring new methods and technologies to improve efficiency and customer experience.
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior global leadership role focusing on last mile distribution.
* Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (e.g., WMS, ERP, TMS).
* Experience working with serialized products and GS1 identification standards.
* Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
* Experience with budget and business plan development.
* Lean Six Sigma management.
* Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
* Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
* Knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, supply chain and employee management.
* Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
* Fluency in English, other European languages are a plus.
