WHAT TO EXPECT
Gates Power Transmission Spain is situated in Balsareny, approximately 40 minutes away from Barcelona. With a rich history spanning over 30 years, our facility specializes in the production of belts, contributing to a yearly output of over 15 million belt units. The majority of our production caters to the Automotive Aftermarket and Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers sector (called internally Automotive First Fit or AFF), while about 5% will serve the industrial market.
Working full-time from Gates P.T. Spain, you will be hired as a Product & Process Engineer supporting our Production department.
* Partner effectively to ensure efficient planning and execution.
* Your fit in the organization will be to lead the organization and schedule production activities to optimize resources and achieve company objectives.
* You will strengthen initiatives and address the needs of these departments, fostering continuous improvement and organizational growth.
Key responsibilities (on top of the above):
* Drive improvements with a focus on achieving zero HSE incidents, minimizing scrap, and standardizing processes and operations to ensure seamless efficiency.
* Collaborate on defining, implementing, and optimizing new manufacturing processes to meet annual cost reduction goals.
* Apply advanced engineering methods to resolve manufacturing challenges and enhance current products and processes.
* Oversee the introduction of new products in collaboration with the Product Development Group (PDG) within the cell area.
* Lead VSM initiatives to enhance cell performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Spearhead or participate in changes to processes, layouts, machines, equipment, process cycles, and labor efficiency.
* Lead activities such as quick changeover, standard work implementation, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), tooling management, 5S, problem-solving, Kaizen events, and material flow optimization.
* Foster process innovation through external benchmarking, collaboration with suppliers, and engagement with the Product Development Group (PDG).
ABOUT YOU
* A degree in Engineering, high school diploma, or equivalent required.
* At least 2 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with internal and external teams.
* Fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan.
