Responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities related to the reception, storage, and shipping of goods while maintaining rigorous and accurate inventory control. Responsible for overall warehouse efficiency, expense control, and all objectives, including training, motivation of personnel, and personnel development programmes. Full P&L accountability. This person will also be responsible for supporting the sales team and customer service in ES, operational issues, initiations, and actions.L’Ametlla del Valles, ES facility:Budget €850kLines Shipped 60kLines Received 26kWarehouse size: 5,500 m21,500 items €2.25M InventoryStaff 4Key Responsibilities:Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.Manage and coordinate warehouse staff, assigning tasks and scheduling holidays shifts.Full budget accountability – build and manage aggressively the distribution centre’s budget.Develop and deploy service offerings that consistently meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.Continuously look for areas of improvement that increase efficiency and overall company profitability.Work aggressively to further improve warehouse organization, layout, and efficiency.Guide the design of data-driven metrics and exception management processes and implement associated standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve operations performance (productivity, quality, and service). Apply techniques like forecasting, variable staffing, and improved space utilization.Further develop an organizational structure focused on building a cohesive team built around the values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Responsible for training, development of the team, and performance improvement plans.Manage team focus and visible support of safety and environmental programs (maintain zero waste certification).Commit and plan to ensure all required training is current as per quality program.Work as a member of a European network to ensure consistent processes and procedures by bringing proven methods.Ensure that the operation is operating within corporate, EU, and local regulatory guidelines, safety legislation, ISO work instructions, and environmental standards.Maintain quality systems. Lead/act as a representative of senior management in customer audits or external evaluations.Identify site equipment requirements, source supply, negotiate price. Manage capital assets and associated repair and maintenance.Responsible for the maintenance of the building in all aspects (including security system and fire system). Interlocutor with contractors.Contact/interlocutor with official bodies such as the city council or regional government.Other duties as assigned.Travel: Not significant.Experience:Must possess substantial hands-on managerial experience in physical distribution and/or transportation with exposure to complex team management issues.Languages:CatalanSpanishEnglishMinimum Qualifications:A Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related area or equivalent.Good level in all Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio).Good user level and detailed knowledge of WMS and WMS configuration.Strong history with proven process re-engineering and operational improvement. PPI/Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing training desired.Non-negotiable aptitudes, skills, and knowledge:Willing to do any type of task: from warehousing ground floor jobs to high management tasks.Must be able to effectively communicate with varying levels, internal and external to the company.Ability to interact in a team environment with a customer-focused approach and interest in continuously improving service for both internal and external customers.Must possess strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
