JOB DESCRIPTION :
The person we are looking for will be responsible for accounting, tax duties, business control, and reporting. She/he needs to be familiar with legalities and the accounting structure in France as she/he will propose how the office must be structured accounting-wise.
The position holder will serve as the most reliable connection between the local business and the corporate operation.
Responsibilities
* Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
* Report on the closings and the company’s financial health and liquidity.
* Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
* Prepare VAT and other French and Italian taxes.
* Manage accounts receivable, following up on invoices when necessary.
* Bookkeeping for vendors: Properly book vendors with the right documentation and report vendor information to the government.
* Prepare payroll and social security statements.
* Help establish company best practices related to accounting.
* Examine financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
* Communicate regularly with the Accounting office.
Required skills and qualifications
* 7 to 10 years of experience in an accounting role in a large company or an important accounting firm.
* High knowledge of IFRS standards and understanding of US GAAP standards.
* Familiarity with legalities and the accounting structure in France to ensure adherence to applicable local and national regulations impacting finances.
* Good communication skills to interact with staff, providers, and clients.
* Able to work in a complex organization.
* Detail-oriented.
* High level of proficiency in Excel.
* Able to work autonomously.
* Full professional proficiency in both French and English.
Preferred skills and qualifications
* Experience in media, communication, creative, advertising, or fashion industry would be a plus.
* Knowledge and experience working with producers and production accounting.
