Role Overview
We are seeking an EU Innovation Business Development Manager to join our team at Leitat, a leading technological center of excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
* Networking and proposal writing: Analyze Work Programs, topics, EC documents, regulations, technology platform documents, and research agendas.
* Represent Leitat in European platforms and other thematic and strategic events and conferences.
* Organize and lead brainstorming and concept development sessions.
* Search for partners, build consortia, and ensure the quality of submitted proposals.
* Draft and lead proposals, defining roles allocated to team members and setting deadlines.
* Draft proposal budgets according to EC requirements and funding rules.
* Evaluate proposals internally.
* Work closely with consultancies to ensure proposal quality.
* Submit proposals to funding bodies.
Business Development:
* Develop and promote Leitat's strategy and priorities in the mobility and manufacturing sector.
* Promote Leitat's capabilities and activities within the sector.
* Maintain close relationships with key EU stakeholders.
* Monitor ongoing activities within the strategic area at national, international, and private levels.
* Develop, analyze, monitor, and coordinate meetings/participants for strategic sectors/areas.
* Ensure Leitat's visibility and competitiveness within national and European research ecosystems.
* Grow Leitat's business within existing research lines and establish new research lines.
* Maintain strong relationships with specific National Contact points.
Requirements:
* Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in a research, technology, or industry environment within the mobility, Industry 4.0, or materials sectors.
* A strong background in public funding is required.
* M.Sc. in Science or Engineering, European studies, or PhD will be viewed favorably.
* Experience with EU funding programs, successful proposal writing and submission, and management of EU proposals/bids is essential.
* Proven experience in coordinating H2020 and/or Horizon Europe proposals/bids (e.g., Cluster 4-5 and/or CleanAviation and/or EURail) is desirable.
* Understanding of administrative and financial rules, particularly for Horizon Europe, is necessary.
* Knowledge of technology transfer and commercialization, as well as international experience, will be positively evaluated.
